The Craft of Audition Cuts with Eva Kendrick
Ages 10+ running Saturday, February 7 from 4:15-5:30pm in Studio C (Parents welcome!)
The Craft of Audition Cuts will demonstrate how to create outstanding audition cuts for musical theatre and commercial music styles. We will explore how to showcase your singer’s vocal and acting strengths, how to tell a story in the time allotted, how to make smooth cuts, and how to mark your scores clearly for the pianist. We will also explore in-depth topics, such as changing words/notes where needed, navigating key changes, and software available to help you create a professional-looking cut.
Eva Conley Kendrick, a teaching artist, composer, arranger and vocalist in the Metro Boston area, is Director of the Eva Kendrick Voice Studio, Professor of Voice at Dean College, and Director of Music at FPUU Medfield. Her students have performed roles on Broadway, National Tours and regional theatre, and have received accolades including numerous NATS NSA Awards, and a Jimmy Award nomination. Eva offers instruction in voice, music theory, sight-singing and composition as well as audition prep for musical theatre productions, college auditions and summer intensives.
Acting & Improv with Maddie
Grades 5-8
Monday, February 2-March 30 from 6:30-7:15pm in Studio (no classes February 16 or March 9) in Studio A
In this 7-week workshop, students will dive into the basics of Improv comedy as well as scripted works from plays!
Songwriting with Anina
Grades 5-8
Saturdays, February 28-March 28 from 2:45-4:00pm in Studio A
In this 5-week workshop, students will begin to develop their songwriter’s toolkit and learn the basics of lyric writing. Some homework will be assigned over the course. Parents and caregivers are welcome to join us for a brief performance during the last 20-30 minutes of our fifth and final class!
Group Voice Lab with Hannah
Grades 5-8
Saturdays, February 28-March 28 from 4:15-5:15pm in Studio A
In this 5-week workshop, students will experience a small group vocal technique and coaching experience!
