SCHEDULE

Spring/Summer: Rehearsals Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from May 10-30 (Weekdays 4:00-9:00pm, Saturdays 9am-5pm, and Sundays 12pm-8pm), excluding Memorial Day Weekend.  Performances May 30-June 30 in New England (mainly MA).  We are also hoping to plan an optional national performance in Spring/Summer 2020!  Details to be announced and additional fees & travel expenses will apply.

COMMITMENT & COSTS INVOLVED

The Friends of Broadway is a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization and is tuition-based.  The spring payment of $450 secures a spot in the company from May-August.  Need-based financial aid may be available. Cast members provide their own transportation to rehearsals and events.  Optional expenses may include tour jackets, show tickets, scholarship donations, etc.

*The Friends of Broadway is a separate entity from The Performing Arts Connection. Participation in TPAC programs does not give an audition advantage or guarantee a role in FOB.  Previous experience is not required to audition, however FOB is an advanced performance troupe. Therefore, dancers are expected to learn and retain choreography quickly and have a well-rounded background in a variety of dance styles.  (As a general guideline, most cast members train an average of 6 hours per week in dance, voice, and theater outside of FOB.) Singers should have excellent pitch, rhythm, and stage presence. Additionally, we are looking for team players with fun personalities who are comfortable entertaining and engaging with a crowd!  Former cast members range from Broadway actors to professional recording artists so it is important to understand that the audition process can be very competitive.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Friends of Broadway is committed to sharing the joy of music with people of all walks of life. We do this by producing musical events that include singing and dancing to Broadway songs and other American favorites. In the process of reaching out to our community, members of the cast participate in a life-changing experience that they will always remember.  A professional coach offers individualized training, technical support, and emotional encouragement. Cast members have extensive musical theater experience, including any or all of the following: lessons in tap, jazz, ballet, voice, acting, and/or prior performing experience at the community theater level or above. They learn to work as a team in a fun and challenging environment.  The Friends of Broadway is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization.  All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

ABOUT

“The Friends of Broadway" was founded in 1998 by then 14-year-old Samantha Hammel (now Bower).  Originally a group of six, each new season boasts a cast of up to 22 girls ranging from grades 2 through college.

"The Friends of Broadway" is a non-profit musical revue featuring girls who travel all over the country singing and dancing to the likes of Broadway, movies, pop songs, oldies, holiday/summer favorites, and much more! Touching the lives of thousands and stunning audiences all over the country, FOB has appeared at hundreds of venues since 1998. Most notable performances include Disney World's Epcot Center, Magic Kingdom and Downtown Disney in Orlando, Florida, Off-Broadway at The Producer's Club in New York City, and aboard Royal Caribbean's Majesty of the Seas in the Bahamas!
